Good morning to everyone (except that bitch Carole Baskin).
If you’re like me, shortly after binge watching a Netflix series as awesome as Tiger King, you might find yourself beginning to exhibit strange withdrawal symptoms. For me, this typically includes a general lack of interest in other shows for at least a week, watching hours of derivative videos on YouTube like Top 10 Cringiest Moments From Tiger King or digging into the main character’s backstories on Wikipedia. Spoiler alert, I didn’t find the smoking gun in the disappearance of Don Lewis on Carole Basikn’s page, but I did learn that Universal is developing an adaptation of Joe Exotic’s podcast for Television, tapping Kate McKinnon to play Baskin. Another withdrawal symptom I commonly experience, is the need to seek out and buy the most ridiculous merchandise related to the show I just watched. This time, while conducting my Tiger King search, I documented the best finds for all you Cool Cats and Kittens to enjoy!

On this episode of Business Battleground, Ashkan Karbasfrooshan discusses a major sea change in the media business that has led to a so-called “New World Order” and the streaming wars of our time. The 71st Primetime Emmy Awards took place last night and if you decided against sitting through the entire live show, don’t worry, all you missed was the show running unconventionally short, no host, comedian Thomas Lennon throwing in questionable voice-over commentary, and surprisingly no awards for “Veep” and “Game of Thrones” being humbled by their unusually low on-screen trophy count.
Now, let’s skip ahead to everyone’s primary concern: WHO WON?!…and who was snubbed? Although they didn’t dominate the screen last night, “Game of Thrones” picked up the majority of their awards last week and did still walk away with the award for outstanding drama series. There were also some pleasant surprises, like “Fleabag” and HBO’s “Chernobyl” taking home multiple awards. Julia Garner from “Ozark” also beat out the powerhouse of female “Game of Thrones” supporting actress nominees including Lena Headey, Sophie Turner, Masie Williams and Gwendoline Christie, which fuelled a few Twitter fires. To find out who took home the remaining awards, here is the complete list of the 2019 Emmy Awards winners!
