Emmy Awards 2019: Winners, Surprises & Twitter Reactions

No Host, No Problem?

The 71st Primetime Emmy Awards took place last night and if you decided against sitting through the entire live show, don’t worry, all you missed was the show running unconventionally short, no host, comedian Thomas Lennon throwing in questionable voice-over commentary, and surprisingly no awards for “Veep” and “Game of Thrones” being humbled by their unusually low on-screen trophy count.

Now, let’s skip ahead to everyone’s primary concern: WHO WON?!…and who was snubbed? Although they didn’t dominate the screen last night, “Game of Thrones” picked up the majority of their awards last week and did still walk away with the award for outstanding drama series. There were also some pleasant surprises, like “Fleabag” and HBO’s “Chernobyl” taking home multiple awards. Julia Garner from “Ozark” also beat out the powerhouse of female “Game of Thrones” supporting actress nominees including Lena Headey, Sophie Turner, Masie Williams and Gwendoline Christie, which fuelled a few Twitter fires. Stranger Things Final Trailer Reveals Season 3 Details

We’re Ready For One Summer to Change Everything

Get ready to scream while you stream, because according to Netflix’ final trailer for the upcoming third season of “Stranger Things”, we’ve far from escaped the Mind Flayer. But before we delve into the details of this final teaser, along with some always hilarious Twitter reactions, check it out below!

Well, it seems Bob’s sacrifice may have been for nothing, because according to this final trailer, closing the gate to the Upside Down did the exact opposite of what they all wanted. Rather than shut out the Mind Flayer/Shadow Monster, they locked it in to Hawkins!

This means Mike, Eleven, Dustin, Lucas, Max, Nancy, Jonathan, Steve, Hopper and Joyce are back with a vengeance and this time against a new host: Max’ brother Billy. What does this battle entail? We still aren’t sure, but hey, the gang’s back together, it’s summer vacation, the 80s apparel is in full swing and the action looks as dynamic as ever, so we’re more than ready to find out.

Until the July 4th release, check out how Twitter fans are reacting to this new trailer!

New “Doctor Sleep” Teaser: “The Shining” Sequel That Stephen King Actually Wants

Here’s Danny!

Almost 40 years have passed since Stephen King’s most notoriously terrifying novel, “The Shining”, hit the big screen and although it was met with some disapproval, the film is a classic and the source material is still one of the most cherished masterpieces of horror to-date. Today’s a big day for fear fanatics, because the first teaser trailer for “Doctor Sleep”, the highly anticipated sequel, is finally here! This time we’re following an adult Danny Torrence (Ewan McGregor) in the aftermath of his haunted childhood, and who better to tackle the themes of trauma, recovery and terror than “The Haunting of Hill House” director Mike Flanagan. Check it out, below!

“Doctor Sleep” will depart slightly from the events of Stanley Kubrick’s “The Shining”, given Stephen King’s public criticism of the film, and will instead stand as a more direct sequel to King’s 1977 novel. In terms of the plot, this primary teaser sees Danny searching for answers about his unique premonitions and abilities, called “the shining”. Although years have gone by since the harrowing events that took place at the Overlook Hotel in Colorado, Danny is clearly still dealing with the aftermath and finds himself connected to a young girl with similar powers.

With “The Shining” references galore and source material as strong as it gets, we can only imagine the terror that awaits us. “Doctor Sleep” hits theatres this November, so to prepare yourself, check out what Twitter is saying about today’s teaser!

Frozen 2 Official Trailer Takes Elsa Into the Unknown

If the dark and intense teaser for “Frozen 2” caught you off guard, don’t hold your breath waiting for the cheerful and bright “Frozen” bliss we’ve come to expect, because Disney just released the “Frozen 2” full-length official trailer and the fierce mood is here to stay. Check it out!

Expanding on the events of the teaser, the trailer begins with Elsa struggling to combat some pretty treacherous waves, after which she meets a mysterious water horse that is said to be a spirit called the Nokk.

From there, we follow Elsa, Anna, Olaf and Kristoff as they venture North, among playful, magical and mystifying creatures and beyond Arendelle, to the unknown. This journey will hopefully bring them answers regarding Elsa’s powers, but not without impending danger, sisterly support and of course, some new songs that will get stuck in your head; whether you like it or not.

Frozen 2” hits theatres in November, so until then check out how fans are reacting to this new trailer!

Top 10 Most Purchased Amazon Items Under $30

These Products Are In Their Prime

Although it forever beats searching for AAA batteries in a department store during rush-hour, shopping on Amazon can still be intimidating because you don’t always know what to expect. Luckily, Amazon tags their most purchased items as “Best Sellers” and we’ve made your life even easier by putting together a list of 10 of these items from various categories that are under $30. Note: We hope you like the products we recommend! Just so you know, WatchMojo may collect a share of sales from the links on this page.

10. Ailun Screen Protector for iPhone

We’re starting things off with a tried-and-true classic, because as “smart” as they may be, the Achilles heel of all mobile devices is concrete…or wood…or ceramic…sometimes ice…okay most surfaces. But luckily Amazon’s got all of our phones’ backs with these protective screens for under $6!

9. Unfreedom of the Press

Everyone’s always looking for a new book to read and apparently, New York Times bestselling author, FOX News star and radio host, Mark R. Levin’s “Unfreedom of the Press” is the one to reach for (or click for). Looks like the American free press is a hot topic right now.

8. Fire TV Stick with Alexa Voice Remote

It’s no surprise that one of Amazon’s top sellers is an accessory to their popular voice-activated Alexa system. This streaming media player and Alexa remote duo allows you to control and launch content onto your TV, hands-free and currently for $10 off! Hey Alexa, not too shabby!

7. L.O.L. Surprise! Glam Glitter Series Doll with 7 Surprises

This doll kit may seem like a strange item to have withheld a spot on Amazon’s list of best-selling toys for so long, but I mean there ARE 7 surprises included inside like secret message stickers, outfits, fashion accessories, and 7 glam glitter dolls!!! Okay…maybe it’s not for everyone. Or according to Amazon, maybe it is!

6. Orgain Organic Plant Based Protein Powder

Standing strong in the #1 spot for Grocery & Food best-sellers, with over 6,000 reviews, low net carbs, no Dairy, absolutely no gluten, not an ounce of lactose, none of that added sugar nonsense and not a single GMO in sight…it’s Orgain Protein!

5. GRECERELLE Women’s Maxi Dresses

Not only is this a “Casual Loose Pocket Long Dress Short Sleeve Split Maxi Dress”, but there are literally 30 other colors and patterns for you to choose from. With versatility like that, it’s no wonder this minimalistic garment is the #1 best seller in clothing, shoes & jewelry across Amazon.com.

4. Buzzed

This drinking game, designed for ages 21+, has been a top seller under “Toys & Games” and promises to “Get You and Your Friends Tipsy!” With cards that prompt the group to drink such as “Drink if you ever studied abroad in Europe and “it totally changed your life””, Buzzed is light-hearted and clearly a hit.

3. PlayStation Store Gift Card

These items are pretty self-explanatory, but since they take up all three top spots on Amazon’s best-selling video game products list, they’re clearly worth mentioning.

2. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse

A hit at the box office and a hit online, “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” stands strong as the #1 best-selling item for Movies & TV on Amazon and with the title of Academy Award winner for Best Animated Feature, is anyone really surprised?

1. Wyze Cam 1080p HD Indoor Wireless Smart Home Camera

Amazon users are evidently a protective bunch, seeing as this home security camera that live streams in 1080p full HD direct to your phone is the #1 best-seller in the camera & photo category. Safety and reassurance for less than $30? Sounds like a wyze decision.

Which of these various Amazon products would you buy? Or have you already!?!
