Final Fantasy Roller Coaster Coming To Universal Studios Japan

Ready To Take A Ride With The FF Crew?

If any of you happen to be avid fans of the Final Fantasy franchise, then you might want to start booking your plane tickets right now, since Universal Studios Japan in Osaka have announced new details in regards to their upcoming roller coaster based on the hit RPG series.

In short, it’s going to be a VR experience that will send you through the games’ most iconic locations, all the while encountering some rather familiar faces.

According to an article on Crunchyroll

New details have emerged for the Final Fantasy attraction coming in January of 2018 to Universal Studios Japan: the ride is a VR-enhanced roller coaster entitled “Final Fantasy XR Ride” that will take guests on a high-speed, airship tour through the worlds of the Final Fantasy JRPG series.

The goal of the ride is to provide a total sensory experience, so that no matter where one looks during the ride – up, down, left, or right – it will be a 360 degree reproduction of Final Fantasy environments as the roller coaster takes on the role of a magical airship warping between worlds.

Additionally, the logo for the “Final Fantasy XR Ride” is a new illustration by artist Yoshitaka Amano, whose work has long been associated with the Final Fantasy series. The “Final Fantasy XR Ride” attraction will run from January 18, 2018 – June 24, 2018, at Universal Studios Japan in Konohana Ward, Osaka, Japan.

Now we’re sure many will be thrilled at the chance of getting up close and personal with the likes of brooding badasses Cloud Strife and Squall Leonhart, some of you may even be eager to get another earful of Tidus’ laugh. However, there’s only one person we want to encounter on this ride!

Throw in his personal theme song, then it truly will be a Final Fantasy experience unlike any other!
