Final Fantasy XV Meets Assassin’s Creed in Latest DLC

The Boys Are Back With Some New Threads

When we last left our favorite foursome, they were hitting the road in the Regalia and slicing apart all manner of monsters. Now they are set to make a return, with the latest Final Fantasy XV DLC giving the likes of Noctis, Ignis, Gladiolus and Prompto the chance to dress as legendary assassins from another hugely successful franchise.

A Gamespot article explained how this most unexpected of match-ups was all part of a huge crossover event, most likely in preparation for the eagerly awaited Assassin’s Creed Origins.

They write:

“Lestallum will be home to the limited-time Assassin’s Festival event. This will bring mini-games and exclusive items, as well as “gameplay elements from the Assassin’s Creed game series,” which appear to include the ability to perform a Leap of Faith right in the middle of the city.

The items include Medjay’s Assassin’s Robes that all four main characters can wear to resemble Assassins. Noctis can also get Master Assassin’s Robes through the Dream Egg, which comes from the Moogle Chocobo Carnival that returned recently and runs through the end of September. As the trailer above shows, it’s all a bit dissonant–there’s something strange about seeing Noctis and company dressed like Assassins in Eos while Cindy sits around in her usual outfit.

The Assassin’s Festival begins on August 31 and will run until January 31, 2018. A free update will arrive at the end of the month for both PS4 and Xbox One players.”

That’s right, if any of you ever wanted to see Noctis dressed as Altair then your prayers have been answered. We’re not going to lie, despite looking like a brooding fairy tale prince, the dude pulls off that cowl rather well!

We’re hoping this continues to be a trend in future DLC, maybe Square Enix will manage to have the boys cross over to the Far Cry universe. Can you imagine them going up against Vaas?
